The Liberty State Park is one of the most striking parks in the state because it has a beautiful background consisting of the cityscape of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island.
Liberty State Park, a verdant haven in the middle of metropolitan northern New Jersey, acts as a portal to the surrounding area’s many natural, cultural, and historical riches.
At the north end of the park, in a prominent location, you’ll find the historic Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal (C.R.R.N.J.), which served as a magnificent backdrop for a significant portion of New Jersey’s transportation history in the northeast. Liberty Walk is a two-mile long promenade that connects two picnic and playground areas, the Nature Center and the C.R.R.N.J. Terminal. It also provides tourists with an expansive vista of the Hudson River. The many sorts of leisure may take place in an enticing setting thanks to the vast fields, kilometers of roads, and outdoor performance space. The Liberty Landing Marina, many restaurants, and the New Jersey Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial are located at the park’s northern end. These immigrants were welcomed by the Statue of Liberty and processed at Ellis Island before making their way to the Terminal to buy tickets and board trains that would take them to their new homes throughout the United States.

Attacks on the World Trade Center by terrorists on September 11, 2001, claimed the lives of 750 people from New Jersey. The Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, are commemorated at the “Empty Sky” 9/11 Memorial, the official State of New Jersey Memorial. These individuals perished due to the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The names are hung on the dual walls of brushed stainless steel in a completely haphazard manner. The names of individuals, four inches tall, are easily accessible and etched deep enough to allow for hand rubbing. On September 11, 2011, the 10th anniversary, the monument that Jessica Jamroz and Frederic Schwartz had built was opened to the public for the first time.
The breadth of each side of the World Trade Center Towers is 210 feet, and the length of the twin walls is made of brushed stainless steel. They stand parallel to one another and are 30 feet tall. In between, them is a bluestone walkway that is 12 feet wide and paved with bluestone. The stainless steel, much like the World Trade Center, reflects the shifting light throughout the day. Visitors are asked to remember the deceased and look forward to the future as a community. They are invited to physically and realistically stare at the memorial’s empty sky.
Liberty Landing is a marina that provides its customers with 250 berths, temporary dockage, dry dock storage, a fueling station that is open 24 hours a day, full-service maintenance, a marine shop, and two restaurants that received high praise.
The Liberty Scientific Center offers a wide variety of hands-on science activities and educational events for people of all ages, which results in a limitless number of chances for inquiry and discovery. The center is home to nine permanent exhibition galleries, various touring exhibitions, and the biggest planetarium in the western hemisphere. These galleries showcase how science and technology are integrated into all aspects of their daily life.
Rules and Regulations
All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs)
In the area managed by the New Jersey State Park Service, the recreational use of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) is not allowed. This comprises natural places, historic sites, preserves, marinas, golf courses, and leisure areas. It also includes state parks and forests. Smoking
According to state law, it is illegal to light up a cigarette or use an electronic smoking device (also known as “vaping”) in any of the state’s parks, forests, historic sites, leisure areas, golf courses, or marinas. [N.J.P.L.2005, c.383 (C.26:3D-56)]
Alcohol
In all of the state’s parks, woods, recreation areas, golf courses, marinas, natural areas, historic sites, and preserves, the use of alcoholic drinks is strictly prohibited. [N.J.A.C. 7:2-2.6]
Drones
Flying drones are not allowed in any state parks or forests managed by the state of New Jersey.
There is to be no feeding of wildlife.
Maintain the Beauty and Tidiness of Your Park
Put your rubbish in one of the receptacles provided, and you’ll be helping to take care of the parks, flora, and animals. Bring a trash bag, a bag for recycling materials, and one for picking up after your pet. Thank you!

Pets
The pet owner is in charge of keeping the animal under their control and on a leash no more than six feet long. Please clean up after your animal friends.
Protection against Ticks
Utilize an insect repellent, dress in light colors, pull your jeans into your socks, remain on the paths, check yourself when you arrive home, and immediately take a shower and wash your clothes after returning home.
Picnicking
General Rules:
- No alcohol.
- No soliciting.
- No food sellers.
- There are not to be any balloons, stages, tents, extra tables, animal acts, inflatables (such as bouncy houses), dunk tanks, or other similar amusements or rides at the party.
- No gas barbecues, wood fires, generators, or electrical outlets are allowed on the property.
- Live music or D.J.s won’t be present. Radio volume has to be kept low. Please be kind to the other visitors to the park.
- There is no access for motorized vehicles to the picnic areas. Everyone who applies and participates in the event must utilize the specified loading zones. Every car is required to park in one of the selected areas.
- You are not permitted to use nails, screws, staples, glue, or tape when hanging signs or decorations.
- No marks, including chalk and paint, are permitted on sidewalks, roads, trees, buildings, furniture, or any other surface.
- Rental periods are daily. Setup and disassembly must happen between 9 a.m. and noon on a rental day. And 9 p.m.
